"I'm happy for Jones, I think it's a great fight for him. I think Jones is going to smash Rua."

"Training with Jones in practice, he's one of the best guys I've ever trained with. The level he's gotten to so fast is scary and alarming. He's one of those guys at the gym, he'll be the first one there and the last one to leave. ... He's hungry, he wants it, so I'm glad if it's going to be someone to step into my place, I'm glad it's him."

"I'm still not going to fight Jon. I will always find something to challenge myself. I will go up to heavyweight or down to middleweight. But I will not fight Jon."

from MMA Live

I cut and pasted the above from mmaweekly.com.. from some thread.

And now:

Hammil is in against Rampage, NOT Rashad.

Dana must've thought about the scenario a little bit more.. lol.

Rashad was just saying Jones will beat Shogun because he has to. Jones is his buddy now so expect Rashad to duck more and more fights in the future, like he just ducked Shogun.

Rashad wants no part of guys like Rua, Machida, or Anderson because he knows what level they are on and what level he is on.

OMFG Hammil!?!?

Rampage lost a cunthair of a decision to Rashad and won a cunthair of a decision against Machida. How the fuck can you set him up with Silva (a good and respectable opponent) to Rashad (a grudgematch that would be a huge draw PPV wise and that most fans would like to see) to a deaf tin can scrub like Hammil? What a slap in the face to Rampage.

Im starting to think that Dana's cocaine intake is starting to melt his brain into sludge.

Right.   ::)

Looks like Dana isn't trying to get rid of anyone.

Agreed.  Step down imo for Page.  However, I think (and probably so does Dana) that Page should KO Hamill.

Yeah, but then what? Have him fight Rashad? Again, Dana looks like he is using cocaine and alcohol to decide his matches lately.

Rashad is at the end of his contract. Whose he gonna fight? + the lay off is extended = disaster for him. Think about it.

It will be a year since he's fought in May

Who knows.  We can only speculate.

I REALLY would like to see him drop though.  MW does need some more talent.

yes middle is very soft. I think the drop might hurt him a bit. Guys are more "techincal" from middle on down. A little more hustle in the lower classes if you know what I mean.

Lt heavy on up to me seems the guys know knock outs pay the bills, so they are less likely to try to set up triangles, ankle locks, chokes..etc ...less hustle less technical at times.

Page is fighting Hamil. Apparently rashad was asked about this and he said he was never even approached with a contract offer to fight rampage, so this is all news to him. This is second information I heard on sunday.
