I could care less about teachers... they should fire the whole bunch of them... they are nothing but a bunch of lazy asses once they get past 10+years of teaching in their career.... Give every kid a laptop and an English speaking Asian teacher online so that they can be home schooled... have each kid play one or more sports so that they will continue to socialize with other kids.. and call it a day

my mom is a physical education teacher at middle school level

i think they have a need for organized sports at 12+years - also lifestyle education like finding a rec sport you like and can take into adulthood should be a part of education

middle school was the time in my life when kids startin gettn fat and stayed that way - only other time was freshman year at Baylor and the 'freshman 15' DEAMN

I played alot of lacrosse but it just made me active and I alway had that trust for activity - organized sports are a part of life

I dont see any liberals gettn paid millions a year to throw a ball around?

I was one of the best in the State in Cross-Country and track as well as Swimming.  I did not really take it as serious as I could have.  I did not understand why it was connected with School and education.  My mother was on the West German National Swim team and an Olympic Alternate for the 1968 Summer Games for West Germany.  All of her training was NOT connected with any school.  The VERY best athletes were never trained in school.  This is partly true in the United States as well as any real athlete has not much use for whatever training a school can provide.  They seek help OUTSIDE the school.  Its just a shame that academics and sports are combined in the same setting and all have to pay for the existence of both in some manner.

Oh and most who are Professionals in Sports or Pro athletes, are overwhelmingly Liberal.  Hope this helps.

I liked the German system when I was there of all the club sports.  Kids paid to participate and there was no cost to the taxpayers.  And I am someone who played sports throughout school, but I think the system isn't fair.  Why should a parent of a kid who doesn't play any sports have to pick-up the tab for the ones who do?  In California my brother coached football (I know your fav sport....lol) in a county where it was the teams responsibility to pay all fees.  Between sponsors, boosters, cookout sales, etc... they paid for everything in the entire league.  There is no reason it couldn't work on the HS level. With so many counties/states in such a budget crunch, it is the fiscally responsible thing to do.
