Yeah those look like "pacer" bands, which as Neptune mentioned, they track stride, distance, time, etc.... Here's a early version- http://myrunningaddiction.wordpress.com/2009/10/03/gadget-nike-sportband-2-0/ .

Many new ones are lighter and thinner. Only other option are reflective tapes, but those are a bit wider.

Well, if you track stride and pace, you'd need two, correct?
You can't track stride with one, unless you are a one legged runner or on a pogo stick...

Thanks guys. I feel a bit better just having an outlet. We're taking him to the vets again soon to make another assessment of his condition. I won't let him suffer needlessly as tough as that choice is. The actual name of his disease is spondylosis.

Just remember, and this is tough but it's quantity vs. quality IMO. It's definitely a hard choice to make

Hey, how did your Marathon go?!

it went LOL. Na, the conditions of weather were not the greatest out on the Cape. 25mph winds, sleet/light snow. Finished in the same time as the first one I did and considering I had to wear 3 more layers than I did the first one, I'm okay with that. Hit my wall at mile 18. Thought to myself, I can't finish but I did though. Shortly after the halfway mark, I felt a blister on my foot in the right inner side. This was from feet being soaked. I had 2 pairs of socks that I carried in my pockets, changed them then. Around mile 18 or 19, changed them again.

Legs were extremely sore that night. Next day they were a tad better so I walked on the treadmill to really stretch them out. Tuesday back to training for the NYC half marathon in April. Actually so far every month, exception of August and July (I think it will be too hot) registered for a half or full marathon up until October, which will be my last one for the year and that marathon was the first one I ever did.

Gained 11 pounds in 2.5 days but as of this morning, it's all gone (phewwwwww)

A shot of me warming up and around mile 10 and 20 the JFK memorial library. Hyannis is quite the picturesque New England Beach town

Thanks for asking butternut Wink

It was 50 degree's yesterday, today it's 16 with ice all over.  I'm walking my dogs at the river and a runner dressed in spandex shorts and a muscle shirt is running the walkway.  Is this normal?

You know Bench your right but even some of the guys that I workout with (they do real light sissy sets, lol) that run for two-three hours, run on the inside after we get freezing rain and snow.lol.  I used to run alot, the worse thing that would happen to me was the "bleeding nipples".  I saw some runner at the gym with a womans sports bra under his T-shirt.  He must have the same problem.

i put on band aids before i run......bleeding nipples happen a lot here due to the high humidity, and the wind while running...my chest looks like jesus's back after a long run if i dont band aid up...if i run in full gear it doesnt bother me though, because the wind cant get through all the clothes..

Tried the bandaids and duct tape, it always fell off, lol.  I remember one time I was on a stairclimber and had a white t-shirt on.  My nipples were bleeding and this woman walks buy and looks disgusted.  Too bad I was in my ghetto gym because she went to the counter and wanted something done about it and the guy at the desk said too bad to her.  I wonder what would have happened if I was at one of those gyms with the Lunk alarm?
