I think it's a great thing for believers to educate themselves on topics of science, history, philosophy, etc.....gain some perspective....I work on that constantly.  Still, I challenge nonbelievers to go ahead and attack the source of the issue.  Most put their all their heart and mind into discrediting everything religion, everything Christian, etc.....I say attack the source head on....go for the gut.  Take that same open heart and mind and confront God with it.  God knows the contents of your heart.  See if he doesn't perform a work in your life if you allow him the opportunity....I dare ya.

I know this is very tough to grasp but the text that Christians refer to is the Bible. Therefore a Christian follows the teachings of the Bible. This is no diff than a Muslim or Jewish person would do for their religious text. You do realize this, correct?

Can you imagine a god actually saying you can beat your slave as long as you don't kill him or her because you own the slave?
