How do you balance your family background/culture with living in America and embracing the Western life? Any conflicts? Is the family OK with you marrying a white woman?
Many people can't usually tell... but my wife is Egyptian like me (She doesn't look it though, and looks like a White American - which is exactly why I married her
), difference though is that she was born in the US and lived here her whole life. I was born in Egypt and lived there for like half my life before moving to the US.
Can't really say there is any conflict in values, both my wife and I are very very very westernized, we value certain customs from our Egyptian Heritiage and certain ones from our American upbringing - we try to take the best from each side (but essentially we are both much more Americanized than we are Egyptian really).
