Why won't Boehner and Cantor take a stand.....
« on: April 05, 2011, 09:42:31 AM »
On Obama's illegal war??  They should be outraged that he did not consult congress before using the military.  Boehner could hold a vote today to deny Obama funds for Libya airstrikes, impeachment, etc.

Oh I forgot, the military is for Lord Dictator Obama to use as only he sees fit.

he did consult the senate - they gave him a 100 to 0 vote of confidence to let the UN rule on it.

he's within his legal right for a certain time period, no?

Senate Resolution 85, homie.
You can read it here:
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112sres85ats/pdf/BILLS-112sres85ats.pdf

With no objections, the Senate on March 1 backed a resolution strongly condemning “the gross and systematic violations of human rights in Libya” and urging the U.N. Security Council to take action, “including the possible imposition of a no-fly zone over Libyan territory.”

Yeah I know about all that but it just seems like this would be a perfect time for Boehner to step and show some real leadership, take a stand, show some principle.  But I guess the Constitution is "Just a damn piece of paper" to all establishment repubs.

Why can't he do another "Hell no you can't!" moment on the house floor about this Libya thing just like he did on the Healthcare bill?  That's all I'm saying.

this is why it's mostly those repubs in congress screaming about this bill.  mccain, Graham, etc in the senate and sitting on their hands, as they have some ownership of this.

That wasn't Obama consulting with the Senate.
