what is it with the redsox and naming sandwiches after them. remember the nomar special what garciaparra said was responsible for his rapid weight gain. bryant gumbel however begged to differ outing him along with several others on his real sports show as steroid users.

I don't think most cities name foods after their sports stars... I don't really have any evidence of this, but I can't recall being in Seattle or Portland and eating something named after a sports dude.

I don't recall that in DC or Atlanta either.

Take a trip to NYC, Chicago or Boston. Portland and Washington are not exactly sports towns.

They do. I know Pitt does as well. I can't speak about the west coast cities because I don't spend a lot of time out there aside from LA which is super transient.

never seen anything named after a player in philly, was just there at stadium closes thing was bull's barbecue pit named after greg luzinski. the bull sits there almost every home game and signs autographs for free.
