So you're judging the whole generation based on the conversation you had with a handful of youngsters who were on holiday and drunk/stoned? Not everyone opens up and has indepth conversations with strangers or people they've just become acquainted with.

Don't see much difference in the intellectual capacity of someone from this generation and the previous one. The current generation is used to growing up in the internet/mobile phone era, which is why they use it all the time. If we or our dad's or grandad's generation had similar access, we/they would've been no different.

All that's happened is that the internet has help expose what people are like, esp. the average person who comprises the majority of the population and who now has a platform to put out whatever info or opinions they want, in different formats like text and video. It's always been this way - a handful of individuals at the top of the intellectual pyramid leading the way with discoveries & inventions, while the majority of the population simply choose what trend or product or service they wish to follow or use, that the former group has made available to them.
Kiwi, this issue first started at the dawn of the internet age---Gen X and Y, kids of the baby boomers...Baby Boomer parents want to be friends with their kids, not parents...so the kids (especially girls) get EVERYTHING they want...ever seen a 2 yr old hit his mother in the face in the store, all because he wants something, and the mother instead of reprimanding the lil eff up, give in, and buy said item? Well, that happens on the regular...the kids have more power than the parents...Dad gets his daughter a brand new 3 series BMW while he drives a 10 yr old Volvo with engine problems---all because her friends would laugh if she has a car older than 3 yrs, or if she drives a Honda S2000 (sooo yesterday). And these are not isolated incidents...

And NOBODY wants to work for anything---you see this in how many guys get on the sauce first and then workout...its all about instanenous gratification---which means after everything else is exhausted, one turns to drugs...We have a huge heroin epidemic, and lots of people are pillheads.
You have stoners living in their parents million dollar homes, yet they are begging for money...

I agree. And I think one reason why lots of people these days don't want to work is because they see how unfair and unbalanced the sytem is.

It's hard to accept life as a working stiff when you see people around you born into a life of ease and luxery.

When you see people on the news stealing millions of dollars and getting away with it on a daily basis, you don;t wanna work for chump change. You wanna become a hustler like them and make easy money.

Scamming and easy money is where it's at these days. Hard work doesn't pay the bills anymore. You can thank the federal reserve for that one.

People know what the federal reserve is really all about. They know what banks are all about. Know all about classism and privelage. They choose not to play the game. I can't blame them.

In 40 or 50 years time the world will be at it's knees. Choking on it's own pollution. Survival will be the only thing that matters at that time.

maybe you should get on the gear now and never come off then, enjoy your training and look like a true alpha bodybuilder!

will aid survival also....

I just wanted to tell you that while a lot of kids are stupid, others are working in libraries, studying, READING, raised by parents who take care of them and actually teach them values kept for generations. They take what's good, ignore, fight what isnt. They select. It has always been the same. Sacryfing yourself for your kids. Those parents who think about themselves first sacrify their kids. They let TV and internet raise them. You rip what you saw. The results always depend of the investment. More and more people dont want kids, cause their own parents didnt like them, had regret spawning them. They give these kids cell phones, money, no rules, no nothing. These kids know, learn, they arent desired. They feel like they are a mistake. Because their parents are too self absorbed, care more about their own pleasure. They are addicted to various kind of stuff. These kids once adults, will not know what to teach their kids, cause their own parents didnt teach them anything. You cannot teach what you didnt learn. These kids wont be able to have kids. They ll stay immature -even if they work- all life long. I see some males in their 20s, 30s, convincing their gfs that having kids is...egocentrical. How perverted you have to be to think that way. Reality is these kids havent been love by their parents, especially fathers who abandonned them, and are immature. They do not know what to do with kids, cause their father didnt know what to do with them when they were kids. If a girl fall for this nonsense, she will developp a nevrotic state of minde, with her natural, biological impulse to reproduce being blocked by a belief coming from their fucked up immature and often suicidal boyfriend.

And you know why these boys dont want to grow, dont know what to give to an eventual offpsring? because their fathers didnt know either. As their own fathers-grandfathers- didnt either, and so on. All these people are shitting on basic life principles that are getting forgotten. Some basics you cannot change. Women working also changed everything, they often prefer focusing on their carreer than the kids and the husband, which is also a big, big mistake. Some people know they re just part of something bigger than themselves. Other dont. They think they re just here to please themselves over and over.

The smarter people are at the top of the pyramid as usual, you dont hear about them, that's also part of the strategy.

The OP only dealt with low lifes, and we know there are many of them, some even post here, but do not commit the mistake to believe all young people are that way. A very small fraction of them are going thru all of this selecting what's appropriate and what isnt.

This is natural selection, evolution. There are more and more dumb people. And there are still, smart people, you just dont see or hear about them. Maybe less, compared to the exponential growth of stupid people. If at some point a massive selection has to be done, due to a cataclysm of natural or human origin, we all know who will be selected.

While some people are falling for all the traps, others are taking notes. This is the process of life.

Everything -everyone- is always exactly where it should be, make no mistake.

Think about it next time you see someone reading a book while you re planning to watch "thor"  ::)

Well put. It's easy to see the last hundred years and remove it from the context of all of human history, but we shouldn't.

Pollution will become a traded commodity like anything else. Only the people on the bottom will realy suffer. Your HD Thoreau world is nothing but nostalgia.

This time it's different though.

This time we are gonna go off the edge. We are reaching the climax of mankind's time on this Earth. The tipping point is now.

Mark my words. By the year 2030 this world will be fucked.

Too bad everybody is asleep. And won't do anything about it.

But it's all good. After we humans are wiped out the Earth will regenerate itself and the universe will continue.

Humans are just a speck of sand on the beach of the universe.

Nearly every generation has been saying the same shit for hundreds if not thousands of years.  As you get older, the realization of mortality begins to set in and the initial stages of that understanding most adhere to a rather morbid outlook on life.  As you get older, you just realize this is how life is, like it or not, it's just that simple.

True, but I knew at a young age just looking around me, that the Baby boomer generation sucked at being parents
Have you ever seen a 2 yr old raise it's hand at it's parent?
The problem is very apparent today...quality has gone downhill everywhere...there is no denying that there is a GIANT problem...nowadays people become famous for  not having talent. Where women are trying their damnest to be men, and neutering their sons in the process---a generation who has no real leaders.... And Wolf on top of the hill that has gotten too fat syndrome, along with a society that is stuck in being a victim, yet has a severe entitlement complex

What you state is nothing more than a cycle....the question is, what I stated---is that a cycle or just reason why society hasn't made it to a type 1 civilization
