I have a lot of friends who are cops and teachers andall they do is cry about their vacation days, pensions, step ups, etc.
We have a few teachers that are clients and all they do complain about the red tape they have to go through just to get class materials. I just recently had a personal experience with dealing with the PS system. I spent almost three months after I had a coach CONTACT ME for training their school football and wrestling team. He thought my fees would come from his stipen, one week before I was to start I asked him if he was sure it was ok with his higher ups, he tells me yes, everything is a go we start the following week. Two day later I get an email thats says I have to interview with the AD, after thats I have to go to the district office and fill out a coaching packet (fucking job application), then go for a physical, then even though I'm already CPR/first aid and AED certified, I was required to get ANOTHER from the school district. Then I had to take a blood pathogens test then Live scan back ground check (required by public and private). This took a ton of personal time for which I back charged.
After all of that was done, It was a go...or so I thought. The day I was supposed to start I get a call and they tell me district rules say they can't cut me a check and being a temporary coach, I don't get paid till the END OF THE SEASON (around December), that would have meant I would have to front the money for my coaches, insurance, expenses, etc. You know who writes the laws and rules for the California public school system? The fucking ACLU!! Needless to say I backed out, and back charged the district for my time.
