Cain plays race card
« on: June 24, 2011, 06:22:04 AM »
Earlier this month, ThinkProgress reported that GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain told an audience in Pella, Iowa that he would not sign a bill longer than three pages. (Cain later said he was “exaggerating.”)

Jon Stewart picked up on the story, imitating Cain and joking that if Cain was president he would require everything to be shorter: “Treaties will have to fit on the back of a cereal box … The State of the Union Address will be delivered in the form of a fortune cookie.” (Chris Wallace later replayed the segment during Stewart’s appearance on Fox News Sunday.)

Speaking Wednesday at the Iowa Falls Fire Department, Herman Cain lashed out at Jon Stewart, claiming that Stewart was only targeting him “because I’m black”

I don't recall Cain saying that. I believe he said it's because he's a black conservative, which is the exception to the liberal rule of racist (or borderline racist) comments being VERBOTEN!!

More to Cain's point, which Stewart plainly missed in his attempt to be funny, he is stating that people should be able to actually read bills and understand them before voting on them. That, ironically, is something Obama promised but miserably failed to deliver. The way you keep the people from reading bills and telling the liberals to go straight to the lake of fire with them is by making them 2 feet thick.

The reason Nancy Pelosi gave that line about passing bills to know what's in them is because that's how her Congress operated. People see THOUSANDS of pages of homework and just throw their hand up in digust (for example, when you join certain sites and they post all that gibberish, to which you must agree before you can proceed, do you read that stuff, line by line and precept by precept? Or, do you just click the "I Agree" button and proceed?).

That's how Pelosi snuck in that $105 billion dollars for ObamaCare, along with other foolishness about which we're just starting to learn.

That's the left-winged way of doing business. By the time you find out the real deal, IT'S TOO LATE.

I like cain.  but the victim card is one i dislike.  when hilary, obama, and palin cry about it, it's lame.

cain did sound like a dummy saying he won't sound any bill longer than 3 pages.

Didn't he hit Ireland to find his maternal great-grandparents, not too long ago?
