Its not funny - its sad and absurd for this guy to not mention the role the Demo congesses played since they were in power most of the Reagan years.

Also - why is this guy yearningh for FDR?  12 years of depression with no end in sight until after WW2?

What a joke.

and praising LBJ?  WTF is up that?

So if the decisions made in the 80's is now destroying our country its the democrats fault?

However if the decisions was good for our country we can praise Reagan for it?

I wish i was an republican rather than an independent/progressive republicans have the easiest voters by far

Go read Reagans' own diaries.  I just finished it.  All 600 pages.   Written while he was going through this.

Time aftert time after time, the only way the demo congress would assist him with the fuight against USSR and communism was for him to increase domestic spending on bullshit social welfare programs

You don't get to have it both ways.

If it was a great era for the country, then the Democratic Congress must have played a big part, at least according to your logic.

Make up your mind already.

If we examine incomes, we discover that Reagan's eight years marked a real take-off for inequality, while average incomes stagnated. The income growth of the top once per cent was ten times that of everyone else during his term: 61.5 per cent versus 6.15 per cent. Under JFK/LBJ, the bottom 99 per cent actually did better: gaining 30.9 per cent compared with 26.9 per cent for the top once per cent. And while inequality continued to rise under Clinton, the bottom 99 per cent did more than twice as well as they did under Reagan, gaining 16.7 per cent compared with 56.6 per cent for the wealthiest one per cent.

So much for social welfare programs buddy i never heard it was the rich who used them

It wasnt perfect by far, nothing ever is, but what I am saying is that many of the problems of the 80's are not solely of Reagans' making.

Of course not but conservatives always bring up Reagan like all he did was good for the country. As always there is more sides to the story, however this board is full of retards who just knee-pad one side and have lost their god given brains somewhere and just go on auto pilot. Fucking sad to see the human intellect reduced to a slave of left/right propaganda

(PRINCETON, NJ) — Ahead of Presidents Day 2011, Americans are most likely to say Ronald Reagan was the nation’s greatest president — slightly ahead of Abraham Lincoln and Bill Clinton. Reagan, Lincoln, or John F. Kennedy has been at the top of this “greatest president” list each time this question has been asked in eight surveys over the last 12 years.
