I just saw a clip on CNN where they actually sent a reporter to the young man's house to interview him and his mother.  They are both traumatized that a Christian counseling service would have the audacity to suggest prayer and Bible studies to help him with his homosexuality, along with counseling with a former lesbian.  Oh the horror.    And someone sent into a mole as part of a sting operation to get someone to say you can "pray the gay away."  

It's amazing how discussion of this issue has gotten to the point to where even Christians are unable to talk about faith-based views on homosexuality without this kind of ridiculous scrutiny (by liberals).

The counselors there don't "pray the gay" out of anyone. If you look actually happens (see my post on the other thread regarding this topic), you'll note the lion's share of what happens occurs OUTSIDE the doors of a counseling office.

And CNN referred to this as "accusations" that Bachmann's husband runs such an outfit. Since when did Christian counseling become a crime? Furthermore, at last check, this service was voluntary. No one is forced to go such a place. Then, on Anderson Cooper's show, they bring in Dr. Drew Pinsky (he of "Celebrity Rehab" fame), who talked about how allegedly flawed and ineffective the program is (Oh, the irony!!).

I guess if they'd have said "We are using tax dollars to pray away the gay" and been up front with it, I'd have no problem about it.  But lying about how they're using tax dollars?  That's what they did - took money and lied to us about how they're using it.  Shady.

I don't see it as roasting her at the stake.  She can overcome it.  But she needs to get in front of it and say "Yes, I do believe we can pray away the gay, and yes, I am very cool with using your federal tax dollars to do it, America."

I'd rather have an honest person who makes mistakes - or has extreme beliefs that she feels strongly about - than a fcking liar.

Not every Christian ministry or counseling serves goes into that arena. But, of those that do, why would some gay guy be shocked when they say homosexuality is wrong?

Their program involves much more than just Bible study and prayer, what the guy on tape was mentioning to that gay "plant".

PP = 3% abortion?

A 2009 report says that nearly 40% of their money came from abortions. That hardly sounds like "3%" to me. It would also explain why liberals get bent out of shape, when people talk about cutting PP's federal funding.

I doubt that such is the case with Bachmann's clinic.
