His body was found Wednesday afternoon about 250 feet behind his Baltimore County home.
According to police, Flanagan was upset about financial isssues. He had last spoken to his wife, Alex, around 1 a.m. Wednesday. She said he sounded upset and was concerned when he failed to call her the following day. She sent a neighbor to their house to check on him. Unable to find Flanagan, the neighbor called 911.
An investigation showed he was home alone when he took his life, according to the AP.
The Flanagan family released a statement: "We thank you for your support and kind words at this difficult time. Thank you for respecting our privacy as we grieve. A private memorial will be held at a later date."
