it's a choice we make.

If you step back - how insane is it to put kids in pads/helmets and have them run full speed at one another in 9th grade on the football field?

How insane is it to throw a baseball 90 to 100 mph at a person with full chance a head injury could result?

How insane is it to allow roads to be built where people can move at 102 feet PER SECOND (70 mph).  Human body can't withstand that kind of speed.  motorcycles too!

How insane is it to sell foods, drink, drugs and tobacco which certainly destroy our organs?

We're all gonna die anyway.  If you engage in any kind of risky behavior, and you google that behavior, the negative side effects are very well known.  To anything we choose to do.  All we can really do it shrug it off and stick with our own choices - and our own vices.  hell, we're sitting on our asses reading BBing message boards, not drinking green smoothees while rescuing orphans in Tibet.  It's all about choices, and relative choices at that.

Oh great!!! you found another stupid argument which you can use to justify your roiding ::)
The fact that there are very little real life studies about the actual long term effects of Steroid abuse completly went past you right?
Keep on justifying ;)

If you would see your body as a temple you would also treat it like one not pump it full of unknown substances

Are powerlifters getting these kidney failures?

No, when Powerlifters die early, it's usually heart related conditions. This is especially true for the retired ones that still maintain their old eating habits(speaking of SHWs, etc...).

The big problem is the diuretic use by bodybuilders, powerlifter's may use them to drop water, but the minute after they weigh in, they work hard to rehydrate, etc.....

These men all had/have kidney problems.

What substances are they using that are particularly harmful and/or contributing to kidney failure and their need for transplants?

Abuse of various items, obviously - but quite a few have said it is related to pain relievers or ibuprofen.   Some bodybuilders with kidney issues usually take more than a few ibuprofen tablets.... much more than people who are not training.

Acute Kidney Failure -  Sudden-onset acute kidney failure can be caused by as little as a single dose of ibuprofen if the patient suffers from chronic kidney disease or lupus. The National Kidney Foundation warns that ibuprofen is not recommended for patents with decreased kidney function.

Being a wee, little person of no size and with kidney problems that are in fact, congenital and quite often associated with being a wee, little person of no size I can attest to the fact that ibuprofen is off limits because of its effect on the kidneys.

That said, these ignorant bodydopers suffer from congenital stupidity, huge egos and a gross inability to control said ego.  They do this to themselves and upon their becoming very ill due to AAS and other drugs such as ibuprofen, they try to hide their stupidity and guilt by claiming some rare kidney problem or the like.  When the die, their family may even continue the ruse of congenital renal problems.

Fuck 'em.

High blood pressure + painkillers + diuretic abuse + high protein diet.

High blood pressure uncontrolled for a long period of time slowly damages the kidneys.  Combine that with severe diuretic abuse, painkiller abuse you can get quite a bit of kidney damage.  Plus while the high protein diet might be fine if you have no kidney issues, damage your kidneys with the first 3 the ultra high protein diet will speed along the process.

Funny how people always worry about liver damage.  Yet you in reality hardly ever see a bodybuilders liver fail, it's always the kidneys.

I recommend anyone on any hormones get your blood pressure checked and if needed get blood pressure medication and take it with any cycle.  Doctors prescribe blood pressure medicine like candy and it should be no problem to get.  Angiotensin II receptor blockers I recommend for bodybuilders as they seem to have the least side effects and don't affect your training.  Plus stay away from the narcotics.  I've never touched them but it blows my mind of how many bodybuilders do.

funny how all these people have no education and no serious occupations other than lifting weights and parasiting naive girls lives with a low self esteem for a "living". The very few who survive thru this lifestyle (strategy of survival) keep bulshiting naive newcommers owning gyms and selling useless supps or dealing steroids...

most of these guys assure us they suffered from undiagnosed kidney ailments that were not hurt by the bodybuilding.  I believe flex wheeler said BBing actually "held off" his kidney problems by a full decade, right?

maybe the real problem here is poor diagnosis of kidney problems.

It's a toss up.....it's either that or the fact that they are putting god only knows what chemicals and doses that would kill a horse and wonder why their system breaks down......it's just one of life's mysteries.

why the constant denial about the obvious?........I hate it even more when these victims persisted that their kidney problems are unrelated to what most of us perceived

I'm just waiting for the "offical" reason why he had the problems with his kidney like...
undiagnosed kindey problem or any other undiagnosed illness
yeah right, lets call it what it is, guy was abusing steroids and payed an unfortunate price for it.

And yes I cannot feel sad for somebody who fucks himself up with drugs be it for the daily high or by getting bigger.

I love how every time a pro developed serious health problems, FLEX magazine would claim it was congenital. Every time. Basically, a very rare type of liver failure that occurs congenitally in only 1 out of 100,000 people in the general population would affect 3 pro bodybuilders, even though there are no more than about 100 pro bodybuilders. Do the math. What do the numbers tell you?

it won't be said but i can guarantee uncontrolled blood pressure played a major role. so yes steriods can indirectly cause kidney problem, failure
