I'll have to give oven fries from scratch a try. Just looked up a recipe and it seems easy enough. Also you can choose a healthy oil instead of whatever the store bought ones have on them. Do you prefer conventional cut or steak fries? Do you leave the skins on for extra fiber?
I dont buy them I make them myself.
Wash and peel a few potatoes,dont peel if you dont want to.....your choice.....cut them in half then cut the halves into french fry shapes....spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray,arrange potatoes evenly,spray tops of potatoes,and bake.....flip when golden brown so both sides get brown.
Taste like fries but in essence it is simply a baked potato.....a good treat for when you are eating mostly a clean diet.
EDIT: Misread your post.....most of the time I leave the peel on.....a potato contains more Vitamin C than an orange if you eat the peel also.
Steak fries or regular shape.....they`re all going to the same place!!
