We have a Fuzzy’s tacos here in Ft Worth that makes great shrimp tacos.First time I heard of them I thought tacos with any kind of fish sounded kinda weird but they taste awesome
Yeah i prefer the traditional Mexican tacos, which are typically fish, shrimp, beef, pork meat or pork intestines.
Fish are the best if they have a good salsa with them.
When i go to Mexico once a month with my GF, the first thing we do is stop and eat a bunch of tacos.
The best are Tacos Al Pastor, which is pork that is rotisserie cooked like a shawarma. Made with a special adobada marinade from old traditional Mexico. I'll tell you, a properly prepared al pastor taco is one of the most delicious things i've had in my life. There is a special combination of spices with the pineapple chunks that make it very tasty.
Pork is marinated in a combination of dried chilies, spices, pineapple, and typically achiote paste, then slowly cooked with charcoal or gas flame on a vertical rotisserie called a trompo (lit: spinning top), the meat is shaved off as the outside is browned, and made into tacos. Guajillo chile, garlic, cumin, clove, bay leaf, and vinegar are common ingredients, with cinnamon, dried Mexican oregano, coriander, and black peppercorns found in many variants. Meat is thinly sliced off the spit with a large knife into a small corn tortilla and served with finely chopped onions, cilantro, and diced pineapple. A wedge of lemon or lime and a salsa are optional condiments. There are a few legit places in Texas with them, but most places fall a bit short.
