1st you have to put those guys on phil's drug regime.

1 Ronnie - you realize phil is much smaller than jay and ronnie dwarfed jay in the beginning 
2 Flex - better structure than phil
3 Phil - outwork the rest but clavicles and shape kill him vs 1 and 2
4 Kevin - Phil has a better back, and backs counted back than
5 Ray - wouldn't up the size to compete with phil
6 Chris - too busy with the cell phn and getting high but better structure than phil

Flex was smooth and would also get outmuscled by Phil, so would get beaten. Only Ronnie has the size and conditioning to beat PH in that lineup.

Flex may have a better and probably bigger physique than Phil, but Phil is much more shredded than him

Flex shouldn't have placed second that year. He was oily as hell. Cormier was much better than him and deserved second. Cormier that day was at his best and better than Phil will ever be. Flex was never better than in '93 (have a look at the Ironman from that year).

i'm thinking with the insulin and today's regimes flex "wow factor" would clean house against phil, esp since flex played with 245-250 10 yrs ago.  it's easy to see ronnie would devastate phil.  blowing out his shoulders as he has done still isn't a enough for a taller and 270 or so ronnie

i think ronnie gets him 10 times in the O but i think phi could pick ronnie off at the arnold like gunther did at a gnc show. 

?  if jay had been anything near 2009, would they have placed him over phil's all-time best in 2011?

bbing is all illusion and phil looks like a normal dude in clothes while ronnie looks like a monster.

ronnie off just showing up for a check and phil at his best ever, i guess.

If you wish to argue like that. I was talking merely placing PH in that lineup as they were. A very conditioned Flex like in the 93/98 AC might have a chance, but not the "smooth" guy in the 99 Olympia.

Chris came third that year, he beat Ray, and Kevin, so by Phil competing Chris all of a sudden will lose to Ray and Kevin? according to your post above....please explain ???

Second definitely.

At a long shot would maybe have beaten Ronnie that year but I would probably be in the minority with that opinion.

I for one liked Flex's 99 showing and that year he had best posing routine seen on Olympia stage. Always enjoyed his cocky attitude and self-confident demeanor.

As for Phil's chances on 99 line-up. I think he would've beaten Nasser who was sixth. Ronnie and Flex were way of his league(sorry kiwi). Somewhere between 3-6. Hard to say because of different lightning.

My personal taste... sixth place for Dr. Philsulin :P

Good question.  Phil is a tough one to place because he has full, polished muscle sitting on a less than stellar frame.  I'd have,
1. Ronnie
2. Chris
3. Phil
4. Flex
5. Kevin
