You not having parents or losing them very young as you said might be the reason, you cant reproduce what you didnt have. You werent loved , you cant love. You could learn, but stuck to learning how to be loved and love a female partner. On the other side, ursus who s from a big , normal, caring family wants to create, reproduce , continue a big normal caring family, as simple as that. His parents gave him the desire to promote and maintain life, he acquired it. You didnt.

 Your life is about destroying others and yourself, while ursus' one is about building and maintaining life. Causes, consequences. You ve both been conditionned by your past, and mostly dont have any choice but to be who you are. We re not only inheriting our parents and grandparents qualities but also their sins. And we have no other choice but to identify them and fight em, cultivate ourselves using our knowledges and consciousness. By doing so, true hapiness happens. Or we can let them take over our lives just like they took over the lives of our parents, grandparents, until our lineage ends ultimately.   If you keep on acting and thinking negatively, thus reinforcing the bad stuff you inherited genetically / biologically and psychically from your ancestors and parents, you ll only know suffering. The bad things that happened to your parents conditionned you from the very beginning, and you re scared to reproduce it evern further if you and jezebelle had kids yourselves. Your so called "choice" of not having kids. You two can now only convince each others and others that all that matters in life is to "enjoy it" as much as you can, not reproduce "because the world, life, is too tough", so typical of our today's generation nothingness.  Rich white kid who werent loved and who s unable to love. I know lots of poor people who have more faith in life than you, and who would help others when you would simply ignore them.

It happen to me at an early age and now anything but God for bid something happening to my wife or son I'm pretty much numb. I've had so many close family and friends die I lost count. Like I said. All of this happening within a short period of time.

To each his own. My wife and I have two grown children. They are both remarkable people. Neither my wife nor I have any regrets.

There are more than enough people in this world. So if some people, like you and Jezebelle, chose to not reproduce, that's fine. I don't think it is selfish when someone doesn't want children. And yes, raising children changes your lifestyle for awhile....usually around 18 years or so.

I myself do plan on having kids sometime in the future, and I do want them.  Because I actually do enjoy kids a lot, Been spending a lot of time with my nephew(in-law) and its fun watching them develop into human being with thoughts and ideas.  I dunno, raising kids is something I want to experience.

Leafy, back in the mid 80's I used to work bouncing at a Chinese/Vietnamese night club in Alhambra, ca. The people that I worked with were all off duty Marshalls (now Sheriff dept). The one marshall worked the front taking money, I worked right in front of him checking I'd, not letting underaged in, kicking people out, etc. I got the job because I knew on of the marshalls and was studying to become one myself. The people that came in were rival gang members but that was the place to go as kind if a neutral zone. Vietnamese would always either try to sneak there way in (if they were underage) or lie. We kicked people out a lot and we also got threatened a lot. Long story short, we got threatened one night and at the end of the night one came back and shot the place up, hollow point bullets and all. My friend died on in OR and the shooter fled, I managed to get several rounds off as he was leaving (as did the other cops that was there with me) but he was too far gone. They caught him 6mos later in Chinatown in Boston, extradited him back and stood trial. I was the only witness.
