Hahaha they aren't a socialist country. Might want to re-look at that one. The European Union is group of capitalist countries who have failed. Much like the United States has failed. Keynesian economics aren't socialist economics. I fail to see where Keynes believed economically strategic assets should be under democratic public control. He praised Hayek for heavens sake. Hardly a socialist economist himself.

Even the NY Times has argued that Obama is a social democrat. He is no capitalist. I know the truth hurts but you are a naïve little leftist who hopes that no one will call you out on your lies. Greece's public sector employs something like 1 million people...in a country with a working population of approximate 6 million. They make up about 20% of all Greek jobs. Govt. jobs in the USA are approximately 7% of all jobs. And yet you want to argue that those numbers are indicative of a capitalist state.
They are not a capitalist society. Nor are the bulk of the other EU countries capitalist. They slanted away from capitalism in the 50s and they’re now reaping the rewards of that: overregulation, excessive taxation, no economic growth, bankruptcy and, soon enough, economic collapse. Or do you think retiring from your public sector job with full benefits and pensions at 50 paid for by the taxpayer are characteristics of capitalism?
The United States is struggling because we’ve ventured away from capitalism. Does the entitlement-worshiping, parasitical, benefit-leech culture people like LBJ cultivated have anything to do with capitalism? The welfare state we’ve been heading towards is capitalist? Good joke.
Or how about Obama’s nearly-trillion-dollar stimulus that was nothing more than a payoff to his union thugs and cronies? Was that capitalism? Solyndra? Subsidizing failed solar power projects? Hahaha, no.
