Yes and he is a real lifter too. I remember reading the mags in the 90s when he was lifting with Cormier for a while and Robby deadlifted more than Chris, who was supposed to be one of the strongest pros ever. We won't see guys like him or Ronnie or Arnold again.
Good memory! I recall the same thing: Cormier trained with Robby and was stunned at how much he could pull. (Of course, IIRC, Robby was fully-loaded at this point, prepping for one of the Master's Olympias he should have WON over stupid dwarf Flavio and a smooth-as-silk Vince Taylor.)
Then again, Cormier and his gang, including Flex, Paul and Rico, were always decent show-off pressers, but none of them were known for rowing and pulling the kind of Ronnie and Dorian weights they should have. It generally shows in their backs, too. Paul's back was a joke. Flex's was nicely detailed and thick in the middle traps, but his lats were, by his own admission, lacking; Rico? LOL; and Chris? He had good back development, but we all saw how he compared to the other guys. He probably should have beat Flex at the '99 Olympia. Same said for Shawn Ray. He was WAY more complete and didn't have a bunch of balloons in his delts and arms. Still, it wasn't enough.
