Steven Seagal Coaching The Dragon.
« on: December 03, 2011, 12:39:22 PM »
Who does this fat over-the-hill "action hero" think he is to be coaching real fighters? If he thinks he is so badass, why doesen't he join the UFC himself? I am sure Dana would give him a contract just for a laugh since the pay-per-view draw would be enormous.

As I have been told, The Spider calls him "The Master". Is he joking? Can't these fighters see that Seagal is using them to boost his decadent movie career?  C'mon.

Well, Steven Seagal is a real fighter and I think you need to check his background if I were you before making an assumption.  Aikido is something you really don't want to fuck with

Seagal introduced a new kind of martial art, a combination of aikido and sumo wrestling....

Yeah, because being a master in traditional martial arts gets you very far in MMA...

hahahahaha great post. Epic moment when the guy is hit in the face, you can see him thinking WTF is this?
This reminds me of a boxing contest years ago, a female boxer trained for months to face a male champ opponent, was on tv a few times, all kind of blabla about what tactics she would use...
In the first 20 secs of the fight she was KO'd... ;D

Aikido is something you really don't want to fuck with

which is Absolutely Worthless in MMA. Which is why Segal shat his pants in the only fight he had with a grappler.

aikido has a classical jujutsu ground game but is not taught in most schools, learn before you talk swede. also, there is a huge diff between ring fighting that has rules and real survival fighting for your life.

Show me some aikido grappling matches then and let me see. Since everything else is Worthless for mma.

is this what you're talking about? lol

there are no matches in aikido and your reading comp is not good. i said there is classical jujutsu techniques in aikido but a lot of schools dont teach it. it all comes from the same old school samurai jujutsu (yes some has evolved to only the ground).

So some ground games which is never shown is good enough for you to think Segal would be beneficial for Lyoto?  lol.

Should I say Aikido is Worthless for mma besides the hidden ground game then? that would make you happy? haha

All of those plaza martial arts dojos are worthless. I took karate when I was a kid for about 3-4 years. I learned a bunch of "katas"  ::) what fucken good is a kata. The movements in the katas are pretty worthless. Then we learned how to use Sais and other weapons  ::) When the hell are you ever going to use one of those in a street fight? I did get very flexible and fast it helped me improve in the other sports I was doing.

They never really taught us how to throw a real good punch or combos in the karate class I took. Most of them are obsolete now due to the ufc becoming so popular. There's a karate place right by the gym I go to. I wrestled and boxed a bit when a bit in highschool and I'm in solid shape. I feel like walking in there an challenging the master to a showdown ;D I had a vision of how funny it would be the other day.

The old asian "masters" are opening dojos in occident to steal the money of the young skinny kids with no fathers figures who watch too many action movies, as simple as that, has always been the same. They laugh everytime a stupid white moron enters the dojo hoping to become the next karate kid. Bah. Life is a BUSINESS. Just like other asians open restaurants and sell food that comes from the local mall. Money.

nice choice of video. Perfectly sums what i said in my previous post, except there are also white bullshiters preying on these idiot teens in need of a father figure. There s always someone to make money off someone's else stupidity/shortcomings. Rarely are these businesses genuine, more than just businesses. If there s a demand, there's an offer. The gym/fitness industry could be thrown in the very same basket, it's exactly the same principle. Gullible people being robbed because of their ignorance.

I like how "art martial masters" often tell their "students" not to engage in real fights outside of the boundaries of what s been taught to them. They pretend that's because you have to be wiser than others they sugarcoat it as a "deep, underdansting attitude", but truth is that's because they know what they teach is just utter bullshit and that the poor naive bastards who pay them would get destroyed.

I thought it might have been a full transplant but toupee seems more likely.
Seagal is almost unrecognizable to his heyday :'(
