Real exciting day here! My wife and I went out to breakfast with our daughter, her husband and our grandson.
It is strangely dry weather out today so I raked up four barrels of leaves which barely made a dent in what's on the ground. Cleaned one run of gutters.
Our traditional New Year's dinner is fondue and salad. My wife couldn't find the usual packaged fondue at the local market, so I went to another market to get it today and they were all out. I ended up buying all the ingredients which set me back almost $60. The cheese alone was $24.
I fixed the fondue and made a Caesar salad with anchovies and Parmesan cheese (cheese overload tonight). My wife cut the bread into cubes. Dinner was great.
Right now, we are sitting in the living room watching "Live From Lincoln Center" on the television. We might stay awake until midnight and we might not.
Our grandson left with his skateboard to go to a friends house for a party. Our daughter and son-in-law are out somewhere, not sure where. My wife and I have made it a rule to stay home on New Year's eve....but then we are old folks. Plus, my damn back is sore from raking and picking up all those frigging leaves. Ain't life grand!
Happy New Year all!
