I'm not sure about combat training but cops seem to do ok in fights. Then again, Gannon was also a marine.

Obviously the boxer is punch drunk.

That boxer most probably would have been a fan of Ronnie and therefore nuthin' bad would have happened. Boxer would have asked an autograph, Ronnie would have wrote it and they would have headed together to station.
