I can't pretend to completely understand gender identity issues because this concept baffles me. When I read 'Christine Jorgensen: A Personal Biography' when I was a teenager, I thought she was hysterical and I don't mean in a funny way. It seemed to me she'd convinced herself when she was still a child that she was born into the wrong body. Overtime, I have come to realize that you pretty much have to be this to understand it.

The above being said, I do understand that gender identity issues are very different from being homosexual. If you'd read more about this, you'd know this is correct. A homosexual is someone who is attracted to their own gender. A person with gender identity issues is not gay.

I too have issues and concerns with children undergoing hormone therapy because they have a gender identity issue. The one exception being when the child is a hermaphrodite. Again, not having first hand experience with this issue, it is hard to say what I would do if faced with it, say with one of my own children. However, I imagine I would be very reluctant to authorize a doctor to prescribe gender altering hormones to my preadolescence child, preferring to have them undergo psychological counseling instead. This seems like a decision one should make as an adult.

What I find disturbing is that you apparently believe the link you posted is evidence that gay folks are seeking to turn straight children gay and that it is even possible to do such a thing. Again, gender identy and homosexuality are two very different issues.
