i have never went zero carbs. but i would always have a cheat day once a week while dieting. your body goes into starvation mode it tricks it into burning more fat. this especially happens when you get below 5%..of course that was when i competed now i have a cheat day everyday

I would imagine that metabolism would slow to a crawl after doing keto for an extended period of time. A cheat meal would help.

Why are you doing a ketogenic diet  ??? holding mass is difficult like this, no??

your body goes into starvation mode it tricks it into burning more fat.
Please explain the science behind this.
Starvation mode lowers your BMR, so what benefit are we seeing here.......

so cheating only helps mentally I guess

my clients do not cheat and it works fine .. I do cheat every week and also drink when I cheat. It fucks me up for a day or 2 and then it's back to normal.

true .. however I do not care. I will have enough muscle to create the look or the illusion. I only care about being sliced to the bone.

Tried it some time ago and it worked great. A cheat day is in reality a refuel for your muscles.
A normal calorie diet worked the same for me.
Both cases leave you stringy/empty after a while if you go too low on calories.

Never did keto but on low carbs once under 10% and if you're not juicing= massive muscle loss. A cheat day won't change much I guess. Probably some water and glycogen and not even noticeable.

I don't like extremely low carb diets myself but I think most naturals lose a ton of muscle once going under certain bf levels anyway. And if you're on a ketogenic diet you need the glycogen storage in order to workout and try to minimize muscle loss.

This.

No carb diets are shitty to train on and you might feel like ass all week. You might end up feeling well on them but you might fuck up the carb up eating too much and spend the day in a glucose induced coma. Carb cycling works better for most since it's a lot more flexible and you can adjust your carb levels as you see fit.

The problem with carb cycling is that (once again if natural or clean), you will never get sliced. Unless you maybe do it all year long. On a 12 week cycle, you lose fat very fast at first but once again, hit 10% and below and just see how your body holds to the fat and water when you carb up and how much muscle you lose on the low car days.

Starvation mode?  If you are still eating...there is not 'starvation mode'.....Sev, true ketogenic type of diets won't do 'cheat days', per se....its more of a carb up.  You actually should be trying to limit fat intake on those days.  If you can't find Lyle McDonalds "The Ketogenic Diet" book anywhere ....let me know, I can help you out...PM me.
