Coming Soon: Rambo 5, This Time in Mexico
« on: May 02, 2012, 07:52:18 AM »
Rambo isn't done fighting yet: The action hero will "go out in a blaze of glory" in Rambo 5, Sylvester Stallone revealed in a recent MTV interview getting picked up today. Stallone, 65, is working on a script revolving around John Rambo's final battle, and he implied that the Vietnam veteran could find himself fighting drug lords in Mexico, the Telegraph reports. (Quote that probably came out wrong: "I like the whole Mexican situation, what's going on down there.")

In the planned film, Rambo—who last came to the big screen in 2008—"realizes what his destiny really is," Stallone explains. "It's not to be a farmer, it's not to be obscure—it's to go out in a blaze of glory in a heroic fashion."

Give it a break Stallone.  Leave the action pics to the younger actors.

What will they call this one?

Rambo:  First Hip Replacement
Rambo:  The Saga of Grampa John

I thought Rambo IV finished the series well, just as the 1st Rambo began. Still, the more the merrier so I'm not complaining.

I would love to see "Rambo on coke", the final episode in which he is a rambling antihero killing children, raping women etc in Mexico where he went to to fuel his cocaine-addiction.

the movie starts when Romney/Rubio sign this new DREAM bill into law, effectively ending border enforcement.

Maybe it's just an excuse to introduce a new character, like Sly did in rocky 5 (well he also came back for a rocky 6, but still)

Anyway, I would 100 times rather watch a rambo 12 with a 90 yo Sly than a Terminator w/o Arnold.

Sly made some good stuff with the expandable, I'm confident rambo 5 will be fun to watch, even if it doesn't reach the class of rambo 1.

The Expendables was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. You Americanos appear to be pleased as soon as there enough computerized explosions and shootings involved. Have some class ffs.

rambo (2008) is number 4 in the 30 most violent movies.

hahaha great synopsis  ;D

Quote
4
Rambo (2008)

The Movie: The first Rambo film was one of the first films ever to tackle the psychological after effects of the Vietnam War. In this fourth instalment, muscle-bound Sylvester Stallone returns as a misunderstood war vet. This time around, he decided to leave the psychology at home and simply tear people's throats out.

The Violence: The last 20 minutes are a blizzard of super-violent activity. Beheadings, bodies torn asunder by a turret, and then – best of all – Sly clawing out a guy’s intestines. God bless the Noughties.

Reaction: Ah, the fickleness of the movie-going public. Spear a girl on a pole and it’s exploitation. Arm Stallone with a massive gun and it’s action entertainment.

Heralded as a defining moment in action cinema, First Blood garnered much love upon its release, and is considered one of 1982’s best films. Its follow-up is a fun midnight movie at best.

The problem is, the younger guys just can't do it like he and Arnold did. The Rock and Vin Diesel come off a little gay.

This.

When Sly and Arnold does it (even though they're old as hell/past their prime) it's still somehow more credible due to us growing up with their characters/movies.

It was different in the 80's compared to today, not just the Action-Heroes but everything.
