What about association fees?

in NYC most of those buildings are cooperatives so that is generally the same thing unless the building is a condo.

ok help me with this- why is it in NYC you "buy" apartments but everywhere else in the country you "rent" an apartment.

haha, 100 million isnt that much money? haha, I almost crapped myself. Only on getbig.
Obviously it's more than anyone around here got, but its not like you need to be the richest man in the world to live in it, fuck even minor states like idaho have people richer.

When you buy a coop apartment you are really buying shares in a corporation that owns the entire building.  Owners own shares of a corporation and what is known as a proprietary lease.  some are condo, but it makes a mess for the land records.

it's all legal stuff mostly exclusive to. NY.

Interesting

it's very strange.   Many celebs are frequently turned down for coop purchases by the Board of Directors since the owners don't want paparazzi and media near the building.

I do some RE closings in NYC so I know this bs inside and out.

One of my friends does the same thing. He is an attorney as well. He loves it.  Do you find it enjoyable too?

Ahhh i see.  His side is different and he is often afforded a lot of different opportunities by insanely wealthy clients.  From your posts I can tell you are definitely a good dude and very knowledgeable, as well as not one to brag, but I would bet you make an excellent living doing what you do and live very comfortable even by Manhattan standards.

the amount of people with 100 million is not all that popular...you could never lift another finger in your life and live off 100 million.

no, not the richest man in the world, but 100 million is still pretty sick cash

FUcking endless capitalists!

How much do you need?

I hope the real workers of NYC tear the building down and throw these human-less fucks off the roof!

Yes, those bastards. Imagine working your ass off no matter who you are only to live a dream that you wish you had but won't admit too. Dude, seriously...STFU.

JON. I've done more than that without betting a single dollar yet. I'jj send details later ....

Back to these 90 million dollar apts!

DON'T EVER BUY ONE IF YOUR PURCHASE DOES NOT INCLUDE YOUR VERY OWN PRIVATE ELEVATOR!!!

I lived on the top floor of a high rise condo over-looking the Pacific and waiting for the elevator to come up or down to deliver me to my apartment was a royal pain in the  ass each and every day.

And an earthquake in a high rise apartment can sling-shot ya accross the room until a wall stops your momentum.

And there's always some asshole twenty floors below who falls asleep with a lit cigarette which makes the firemen come and thry close the elevator and do there best to evacuate the buildeing and you gotta join hundreds of others and stand around in your underware in the parking lot until the firemen say all is well.

And then another hour waiting for the elevator that's always too full to take you back upstairs.

These 90 million dolar high rise sales guys are great at painting rosey pictures, but the actuality of living high up off the ground is something entirely different.

When you buy one, don't say I didn't warn ya.

You know, I wouldn't complain at all if I had this kind of lifestyle, but my perspective has changed a bit since I left Australia for Germany. Back home, all my friends are constantly stressed, overworked, unhappy with each other and their lives because they've bought into the ideology that they need to have their own home and at least one investment property, if not more. They're working huge hours for comparatively little in return (except for the stress), and when they do finally get their investment property, it seems to bring even more stress.

Here in GermanLand, the mentality of most people is "If you have one house to live in, why do you need a second one?". "If you enjoy the things you have, why kill yourself trying to acquire more?".

I have nothing against the wealthy enjoying their money, but the 'socialist way of thinking' - well, I can kind of understand it as well. Noone really needs to have that much money to have a life they enjoy living.

If you can afford it or have the ability to live like that then more power to you. I'm sick of the kind of attitude "who needs that much money" "why don't they donate their earnings" "I hope they lose everything " that to me is jealousy, just that simple, if the person speaking so ill about these millionaires/billionaires
guarantee they would love to be in thier shoes. It's the endless bitching of "I deserve the same" mentality "and its not fair" attitude. Well, boo fucking hoo!!! :D

Theres a lot of things in this world nobody really needs and since this is a bbing site big muscles is one of them. Why do people won't huge muscles? For whatever reason I don't care. Just like a fast car? Collecting shoes? How many girls u can bang? To me just goals/satisfaction/hobbies and making a ton of money is no different, maybe some people enjoy it if they simply can do it or have the ability too

Then why do German marques like Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Porsche make uber-sports cars? Because the market---people want said things. This whole "no one needs more" is utter bullshit. Who is to dictate why or why not someone doesn't need "more"? Or shouldn't "want" more? To even the playing field? Life ain't fair. All men and women were not created equal---which is why man invented breast implants, lol.
