where did you buy your set ,Sears? i got the golden billard 70 lb set when i was 8 back in 1959 at a store called nestors.here's the brochure that told you how to use it. featuring abe goldberg.

yes, folks bought it for me in about 1978 Christmas present. had a shitty interlock system that did not work at all.

collars were a pain in the buttocks till the last 20 years or so now they make them better. early on i had all kind of junkers. pic isn't of mine but just to demonstrate some different kinds.

i think they used the fake wooden barbell that they used to impress newbies at gold's gym back in the day. pic'd here. even paul anderson was said to throw in a wood plate here and there to save his back doing all his exhibitions. patera and superstar billy grahan used wood plates when they challenged each other.{got this out of sbg book.}
