Yeah. Season 8 killed the franchise. Everyone was ready to buy the complete boxset and the hype for the spinoffs was crazy. That's all pretty much dead now.

They need  to pull a rabbit out of the hat to bring fans back on board.

The series will be fine.  GRRM and his asst will head the writing, and production will be covered by Miguel Sapochnik.  The funny thing about Season 8 is, Miguel wanted to kill half the cast at Winterfell and have the survivors flee to KL where they would make their last stand.  Phuck Dan and David!

I noticed season 6 was out and started re-watching the earlier seasons since I hadn't watched the show since 2017.  First ~three seasons were great but I thought it lost some steam after that.

it was never about an ancestral sword or dragon glass and the night king, was about world records.
