I agree on the simple figure, its what drops out the bottom that counts in the end, doing something similar myself to position the business for sale in a few years. Not that I'm communicating with you  good to see a few get biggers with a bit more to add than mgs and kgs

Don't be making snide remarks son. I dont question your salary, just your tax arrangements.

I make significantly more than £150k a year. I have my own Eex hazardous area valve business operating in north sea oil and gas industry.
I take around £30k a year thur PAYE to keep me at the 20% rate and take maybe another £200k or so as a dividend which save me NI and higher tax. I pay 20% on this dividend.  I pay me wife another £30k to use us her allowances and she gets £50k dividend too.
Then again, I contribute £500k in vat and employers NI for my employees so I pay my way.


My point is not that you make £150k per year but that you pay top tax thru PAYE. This must make you an SME main board director without being a significant shareholder.  Most people earning that sort of money are shareholders or partners in firms and would never have their payrole department allow them to be hit with 45% tax. They would always divert some to dividends/partners profitshare.  This also saves the business employer NI.

if private sector renters want the luxury of a spare bedroom they have to pay for it, why should the taxpayer pay for people in state subsidised housing to have spare rooms?

you know i write on Facebooks with ex Army Friends and Assosiations. I read every week of old comrades now being forced out of their homes although some served 22 years service to Queen and Country. One Distressed woman wrote that she will now be forced out her house because her Husband who was a long serving soldier died and because her son is now a serving soldier ..will now have to be cut because her son is no longer there. He comes back on leave too see his mother and has no place to live. Cameron is a Coward who does not understand , trust and comradship.

That is disracefull the poor woman after her husband and son have gave so much for this mess of a country to then be forced out of the family home? Its disgusting.
