I'm considering starting a blog/writing comedy...honest opinions

I got nothing against cyp, but he did say be brutally honest...not kiss his ass.  99% of his posts are refried squad insults circa 2007, at at times quite clunky to read....or the ubiquitous "Ugandan sailor". Show some range, and different writings styles....not the same shit every day if you want to interest people soley on your writing.

Being completely unbiased, I really think he doesn't take this forum seriously enough to practice his "range" or "writing styles." Some guys here put a lot of effort into every post, and while they make great contributors, I feel Cyp's humor is effortless and funny. Yeah it's low brow humor, but I'm 25, and have to work in a clinical setting at school for 10 hours a day wearing dress clothes and a lab coat....sometimes at the end of the day I like to kick back and appreciate a good Ugandan penis joke. (self- edited before one of you cocksuckers could edit that for me  )

I think it would be silly to try to post on here to impress others, (to show off)...i think he just is here for fun. But if he wnted to polish his skills and pursure something in a more serious manner, i think he could do decent. I think Cyp is a smart guy and if this is just a causal hobby, why not pursue it.

While my thoughts are genuine and I have no intention to kiss his ass, just merely give my opinion, I will balance out my post by saying Cyp is a Grade A Douchebag of the highest order.

I'm repetetive for a reason though....I haven't got the time to ponder my replies here too much (I actually post mostly at work haha epic productivity levels).

It will be more of a current affairs blog with a section for recipies/healthy living, local and national news, and maybe a section about my illness.

You can't really 'do getbig' outside of getbig, so the comedy will be encased in the writing. I can't really see joe public logging in and being impressed with a news article entitled 'BP appeals to Cameron over spill costs' to scroll down and i've written: I bet Dave Cummedon is just relieved Nick Clegg isn't appealing over dry cleaning costs for the back of his trousers, oh brother.

Not everyone gets us here.

Just wordpress for now. They have a premium option on offer for around 15 pounds per year you get a .com domain, instead of .wordpress.com. I might go for that.

My sister started blogging in Feb 2012 and she landed a book deal with Penguin Books last week...makes you think.

But honestly, go for it. There's never been a better time to be a writer. Self-publish until the big names come calling. Doesn't cost you anything and, as I'm assuming this is a hobby for you, you won't mind putting in a lot of unpaid hours.

Just don't give up your day job yet. Do it like me: get a day job that allows you to fritter away your hours on GB -- or on your writing.

I actually started writing a novel zombie novel (one not set in the US, funny, and without ridiculous weaponry), but quit after page 1. Zombies are so played out. Trying to think of something new.

Not too much comedy involved but, i'd like to get into the habit of having to put something together ona regular basis.

For anyone on a tight budget, there's going to be some very tasty ways to diet on less than £20 a week!
