You can easily find maintenance and adapt to a maintenance amount which will allow you to eat the most possible food without any negative weight gain (fat).

Or you could just make sure you are active and not over eat.  The only excuse for obesity is gluttony and laziness.

many have been active and not overeating for YEARS but there phsysique is nothing to scream about

You THOUGHT you had to take drastic measures when in reality you didn`t.  You did maintain a great physique for a long time and I am sure you weren`t doing DRASTIC measure the entire time.  If you took a more balanced approach, say 2500-3200 calories every single day from your leanest, you would have remained the same pretty much.

Of course you would need to get your daily requirements of Macro and Micro nutrients in order which should happen automatically by default if you are eating like a normal person.  However, if you are restricting your food choices drastically, you may be deficient in a lot of things.  This goes for any kind of restrictive diet.

He did.  The average person back then was eating 3000-4000 plus calories (more than what people eat today actually on average).  They were moving a lot more and doing a lot more.  No sitting around.

People did not sit around and do nothing like today.  Imagine doing EVERYTHING by hand, riding horses (which burns a TON of calories) and basic everyday Victorian Life.

a drop in infant mortality rated would not skew the average lifespan statistic by that much, especially considering how many children people were having back then. the average was something like 8 kids in the 1800's and today it's 1.4. even with the infant mortality rate lowered they would still be having more than enough kids to even out the numbers back then.

any idiot can tell you food quality, air quality, working conditions, medical treatments, etc have improved DRASTICALLY since the 1800-1900's. it's still not great but it's significantly better.

i understood your bullshit no-supporting-studies-or-facts-cited article just fine. i just don't buy it.

my point, general reccomendations seem bit on the high side imo, but yeah its hard to make a one size fits all rule.

My TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) is around 3200 calories with zero activity.  That mean I can eat 3200 and not gain any fat.

i think general recommendations are designed specifically TO make people out of shape and sedentary, it's in the government's best interests. i mean, they recommend 75 grams of protein per day, no way that's nearly enough for anyone to build muscle on. perhaps a small woman. but i'm the paranoid sort.

some actually do eat that stuff, but they go through brutal starvation before and after that, or its carb and fat reload day or trying out stuff.

i even eat couple lbs icecream at once, but yeah, then i follow that up with 2 days of eating nothing at all :-X

yeah but many people go through some time of deinal for a while when its already way late, and then have to deal with a total mess later on.


its ok, theyre great motivational sighting material for dieting for me.

i said previously i sometimes go to mcdonalds have a diet coke and have a look at the fatsos there waiting unpatiently in line like igs do before feeding time, and they all look like couple days fasting wouldnt hurt them :D



Not true.  Its all about Calories in vs. Calories out simple as that.  No need to "purge" yourself or do anything silly like that.  I am 176.2 (this mornings weight) and I eat 2600 calories daily-Very low for me actually and have a nice six pack going on.   8)
