I remember listening to a bodybuilding internet radio show, John Romano remembering how at Gold's in some storage room they had FAKE WEIGHTS, lots of 45lb plates, 200lb dumbells, etc...
JUST for photo shoots!!!

Is that Vince Basile?

^^
Sure is!!!  Don't know where he got the "University of British Columbia" sweatshirt from since he moved from Canada decades ago, must be from a visiting "fan".

I am sure this BASE was built with poundages that would scare Ed Coan.

My first realization it was all drugs when I saw Dillet with 23" arms curling 25's and grabassing between sets.

here we go again......you dudes need to realize that there is a difference between hoisting weights and training to stimulate the muscles.

i used to curl with 60-65 pound dbs......then i began using 30 pounds for db curls.......my arms have developed due to this minor adjustment.

dillett trained many years with charles glass.......he physique really made huge improvements with charles at the controls.

you block heads go ahead and heave and hurl huge poundages........see where it gets you.......some of you blokes still think that a shot in the arse and skipping the gym with develope a championship build.......joke is on you.......dillett trained consistently and enlisted the guidance of mr glass.......many of you like to hang your hats on "hormone response".

they said this guy did too. whoever said it might have caught him on a light day ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
nubret trained with rather light weights......225 on bench presses.....and 25-30 pounds on concentration curls and laterals.

same with arnold......regardless of what the mags say.......now columbu......he trained like a powerlifter.

Lighter weights and better form is the key.

That is a crossfit pic, each plate weighs. 4.85 pounds. Or else there are girls doing like 1000 pound squats.  ;D

His legs were amazing. No doubt. Like Dorian he didn't squat.

Getting back to light weights and heavy weights it really is relative. Doing high rep sets with little rest and a lot of sets is going make a light weight really heavy. Sitting around chatting and resting a long time doing 6 reps sets will let you handle the big weights but who is bodybuilding? The guy benching  2 sets of 6 reps with a ton of weight or the guy doing 5 quick sets of 12 reps with very moderate weights?

Comparing Dorian to Dillet in the training sense...  :-\

Yet, despite naysayers on which style is safer and more effective, one dude looks visibly ill and the other is still in clearly healthy and good shape with a brazilian butt babe to boot.

Dillet was a puff. :-*

All drugs.

Just look at him now.

Claimed he couldn't squat because it would be an "orthopedic nightmare" for him. ::)

That's always the first sign of a puff. :-*

Probably never did a deadlift in his life either. :P

As for Dorian, he was a massive squatter until the hip injury.

But I have an old FLEX where he talks about having no respect for bodybuilders who don't squat often and heavy.

Are you listening, King Paul. ::)

yates did not like barbell squats.......he preferred smith machine squats.......and for the record......dillett had crazy wheels.
