Generation X used to get tattoo's to stand out.
Generation Y nothingness gets tattoo's to fit in. This is the same generation of twinks wearing their tapout shirts so the douchery in them can be more easily spotted.
whether you do something to blend in with the crowd or to stand out from it, you're letting the crowd make your decisions for you. neither is more admirable than the other, because in both cases your actions are a facade.
someone who stands up and proudly declares "everyone has a tattoo now, so i'm being special by not getting one" is a far larger toolbox than the one who says "i got a tattoo because i like it".
if you don't like tattoos, don't get one. if you like them, get one. make your decision for yourself, not for others.
