I've heard cops ask why their communites don't trust them.  Well, when a cop pulls shit like this what do they expect. The most infuriating part is that other cops will defend this fat price of shift or turn the other way if they see this going down.

Exactly...The problem really isn't the cop acting all badass...Rogue cops are gonna happen...But its the other cops just sitting there allowing it to happen and then even after it they knew about the videotape, they still stuck together...

I concur. I think if you try to setup someone so they get charged with a crime they did not commit you should receive the maximum penalty the victim would receive if convicted of the crime i.e false rape accusation get penalty and consequences a rapist would get, aside from the perjury and perhaps conspiracy charges. But usually cops are allowed to threaten or lie without consequences.

The media always makes it out to be 'independent incidents' but we Canadians think otherwise.

Cops weren't as douchebag as this when I was growing up. It seems to be a very recent increasing phenomena.

I know of kids in Etobicoke who had cops threaten their famileis, plant weed on them, beat them up and arrested them.

Then there are criminals who bribe cops.. and if you go to the police station they already came to you to threaten you back so who to turn to?

They committed a crime against all of society by breaking the public trust. This is a way more heinous a crime than selling drugs because it destabilizes society itself.  It's an act of treason against the very values of democracy itself.
