it makes difference. No matter how far away judges are, it still makes difference.

4-6 inches makes a difference 60 plus feet away, are you crazy ?

then why does he do it?

it's also his reputation and self image on the line, when he views the online photos post show he doesn't want to look small.

They should just let them pose right up to the edge of the stage. Then Phil would simply fall off stage when he tries to step over the line.

I don't see why that couldn't be arranged.

The stage in the 2001 Olympia was awesome, I wish they could return to that lighting and that stage,

I favor the electric cattle prod to solve this problem. Coincidently, so does Kai..

well I am not saying it is not wrong cause it clearly makes a difference in a photo, not going to accuse him of that but appearing 6 inches closer in a photo does make a difference and I will agree with you guys no problem on that point.

But from the judges perspective and judging format it can not possibly make a difference, have you ever sat 15 plus rows back, the competitors are so far away, you would never in a million years be able to tell the difference over a couple of inches.

I have helped set up stage lights for bodybuilding shows and I have also helped deciding where the light goes on stage as well and when it is dark in the audience there needs to be a transition with the light strength from audience to stage so it wouldn't work having the strength of the light at the front of the stage, also for safety reasons, these guys are depleted they might fall of the stage being to close to the edge  :-\

Aren't there any rules or sanctions against this? For example if someone insists on crossing the line they get points deducted.

I am a stage marshal, obviously not at pro shows but at regional and provincial level and it is the stage marshal's job to make sure no one crosses the line, I have called people back for this myself and sometimes you have to bark at the competitors.

So in Phil's case it was up the stage marshel to say something

Make a fist and curl your wrist and look at your forearms then look at them with your arms fully extended. Just so u know how a muscle looks alot bigger when it is flexed or stretched .

BTW, the brachioradialis is flexed when the hand is extended and the forearm flexed (bent like in the contracted position of a reverse wrist curl). Since both their arms are extended, it is actually Kai that has hands extended and causing more contraction in his brachioradialis. Phil has in hands curled in contracting the inner wrist flexors. Phil simply has much bigger forearms than Kai. There's no debate on that.

He was in the 240s

I know a lot about the 240s.  They're skinnyfat, manic, emotionally immature messes with just enough cruel wit to stay relevant.

Phil is a such a fucking douchebag and asshole for this shit.

What's the point competing, if contender for a champion's title violate the rules and not getting punished at all?
Phil is standing a foot closer to the lens in comparisons, that's what we all look at after the competition.

IFBB is anything, but a sports federation, if they can allow that and made no official statement or take away the points. For me as a spectator, bodybuilding judging is a fucking black hole, i don't have a clue how that shit works.

There was nothing stopping Kai stepping forward as well.

What happens if the competitor keeps blatantly stepping over the line as soon as the marshal walks away?

I think so too. If they do try to say something to Heath, he would probably make a huge deal out of it saying the Mr.Olympia is being disrespected etc.

 ::) 4-6 inches

you are right, Cheath is standing only 4-6 inches in front of Kai......... ;D

You better go and check your eyes. :-\

You have to be dumb as fuck when you say that Cheath standing closer to the judges does not make difference. It does. Kai looks smaller, just watch videos from contest. ;)

Phil totally destroys him, totally. Apart from kais chest there is no body part better and saying that it's just bigger, his torso shape is plain weird. Kai has more oil in his arms than any one up there. The size queens on this board are clearly closet homos.
