the brass rail is better bro.

That's a bar in Hillcrest San Diego.  I got put up down the street by a company I was working for years ago.

Probably the gayest place on earth, at least that I've ever seen.

Gold Coast is nice, I went up there a few times when I lived in Sydney.  A bit touristy though.

main strip along the beach yes, but these days GC is much more. I just love the place, it is not small but not big either just to my liking (around 600,000 people).
Climate is perfect, beaches great, business is good... I cannot ask for more.

I like how they mention Zyzz on juice but don't mention his pre-existing heart condition and massive coke habit.  Typical media.

The same media that talk about AAS when they show Greg Valvolino's oil adventures. :-\

Based on gear availability alone, I expect that most GB'ers would prefer Thailand to OZ.

Among GB'ers, Thailand wins in a landslide when you factor in the availability of ladyboys, of course.

Sydney is great if you like:

- overpriced houses
- ridiculous rents
- expensive everything really
- shitty roads and traffic and inconsiderate drivers, god help you if you are a cyclist.
- generally rude and snobby people zombified by their iphones and ipods.
- immigrant enclaves

If you are a new home buyer you will probably only afford to live 40+ km from the centre of the city, so you will spend 2 -4 hours a day traveling to work.

Sydney reached it's peak at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has been declining since then.

Apart from that...

the main problem I see with Sydney apart from being expensive  is a fast pace, stressful life, typical rat race city. Mind you it is a beautiful place.

I think it is cool that we have christiania here in Denmark. I heard they gave both Sev and Galeniko political asylum there.
