Confusing early reports:
- there is a woman dead on scene
- there is kid in the car
- gunfire was "exchanged" (I am calling BS on this if the other two are correct)
- there is an officer down (later amended to injured, not with gun)
Here's my theory. Slightly emotionally unstable woman wants to see president. Turns into barricade, police go ape-shit. She panics and get the hell outta there. The cops chase. She loses control and hits a Capitol Hill barricade. Cops pour out of car and pour rounds into her, because she was driving dangerously. One cop hurts back trying to shoot his AR with a donut in his mouth, is transported to Walter Reed.
I think that's about right. I read one account that said they shot her dead after she left the car and started running away. There were four previous "attacks" including two where the perpetrators were armed and one in which the perpetrator actually fired at the White House. They weren't shot. None of them.
But an unarmed black woman gets killed when she gets out of a car that she crashed into a barricade.
If that's what happened, it seems to me they used excessive force. I don't think she posed any threat to anyone.
There should be a thorough investigation, but there won't be. In this country we allow the police to investigate themselves.
