PORTLAND, Ore. -- Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose injured his right knee during the third quarter of Friday night's 98-95 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers and did not return. He tried to cut to the basket and his right knee buckled.
The 2011 NBA MVP was taken to the locker room at the end of the third quarter, barely putting any weight on the injured leg.
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Rose will have an MRI Saturday on his right knee in Los Angeles.
"He has pain, and he felt like he couldn't push off his right knee," Thibodeau said.
Rose tore the ACL in his left knee in April of 2012 and missed all of last season while recovering from reconstructive knee surgery.
The top pick in the 2008 draft, Rose was averaging 15.4 points this season.
