True, but as much time as they'd spent in trouble (I consider Kelly part of Craig's "they"), they really should've known better.
I know instinct says that cooperating with police might make you look less guilty, but that's not the thing to do when you DID commit the crimes involved in the cover-up of what MIGHT have been an accidental asphyxiation. Knowing that they burned that car, they never should've talked.
They haven't been convicted of it yet, but I don't believe for a minute that both were not involved in the arson. At least they had the presence of mind not to report the car stolen. Not making a false police report should shave about 30 days off their sentence.
