Big house for the big boy.

30 months in the slamer :-\

"A powerlifter who once set the world bench press record in Kennewick was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in federal prison for importing anabolic steroids from India.

Ryan Shawn Kennelly, known to the weightlifting world as "Bench Monster," had 1,503 steroid tablets mailed to him from Mumbai, India, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The 39-year-old has been in federal custody since February. He pleaded guilty in March to importing the steroids.Kennelly will be on court supervision for three years after his release. In December 2010, a package containing the tablets arrived for Kennelly at a Kennewick post office, officials said. Kennelly called the post office asking for the package, which eventually was searched by postal inspectors. That same month, authorities searched a Kennewick apartment that was linked to Kennelly, according to Herald archives. Officers found steroid vials, packets of chemicals and a safe. The safe, which Kennelly had the key to, contained $20,000 in cash, $80,000 in gold coins and suspected drugs, court documents said.

Authorities from Grant County's narcotics team previously had seized more than a kilogram of powder steroids from Kennelly's Moses Lake home. Kennelly was charged in Benton County Superior Court with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver anabolic steroids. He faced similar charges in Grant County involving marijuana and steroids. Both cases were dismissed without prejudice as authorities pursued federal charges. Kennelly, a 1992 graduate of Kamikan High School, set the World Powerlifting Organization bench press record in 2008 by pressing 1,075 pounds. The record recently was broken.

He told the Herald in a 2009 interview that he made a living out of redefining the sport of bench pressing. The 6-foot-2 powerlifter said he had written a book and made videos about the art of bench pressing. "No one in the world can do what I do," he told the Herald. "I've studied the art form and made it easier." The investigation that led to Kennelly's arrest was conducted by pigs."

These powerlifting idiot's have ONLY 1 hobby in life: taking tons of juice. Prior to the drugs; they are nobody's. Then they bury themselves in drugs. Then, somehow, they start to think that they are truly special, gifted athletes.

Take away the juice, and they are very ordinary people. Nothing special. Very insecure, people with addictive personalities and a need for attention. (At least with bodybuilding a dude needs to have a decent skeletal structure and follow a decent diet)

These "bench press" guys need to realize that the only sports that the world cares about are: NFL, NHL, NBA, Boxing, UFC, Pro Tennis, World Cup Soccer, PGA Golf, Olympics, Rugby, and maybe Worlds Strongest Man

The bench press goofballs, with their triple demin bench shirts are nothing special.

It'll be interesting to see how well he rebuilds his bench press after the 30 months are over with.

I know ten places I can get crack cocaine today, out in public.  Why don't we see steroid dealers like this on the street at night?

As much as I feel bad that he got busted for silly things that shouldn't be a crime, he was busted 3 times in a short period of time for steroids and weed. You can't thumb your nose at the man like that, and not expect for them to come down hard on you.

before the juice, A-rod was very special, very talented. destined for MLB

The juice just made him a bigger, stronger dude

before the juice, he could still turn double plays @ short-stop position. He could run, jump, slide, dive, hit, catch, ect....

This is a bunch of BS. You don't get to elite PL level just by taking drugs. Powerlifters overall train very hard. And there is a strong genetic component too, just like bodybuilding (skeletal structure and other things). And you need a certain mentality as well, not everyone can lift with the aggression needed.

depends on the state and the DA.

some places, an empty bottle of tren plus 2 used syringes that test pos for tren ace will get you 120months... of which you'll serve 30 months before parole.

WTF?

Nose Bleed. Some say it was from his eyes or a combination of both, but most say it was the nose bleed, plus arch angle that cause it to run into his eyes -

What kind of sport is bench pressing? Take a big fat guy and have him arch his back with a wide grip so he can push a bar for a 12 inches of range of motion with bench shirt that is so stiff he can't get his arms down. I want to see that same guy take a 315 pound bar bell off the floor and put it over head. I bet he can't do it. This kind of nonsense is just phony strength.
