I always say, you get what you get. When one clearly abuses his body in such a fashion as this guy so obviously has, it's a good bet he's gonna have some issues, at some point. It's sad that he's dumb/ill to an extent that has pushed him towards this inevitable end, but fact is, what's coming isn't such a shock.

A human life isn't something necessarily valuable, in truth. We have seven billion of us on this here planet Earth. DA rolled the dice in a careless and idiotic way and will now pay the price.

 

"Your" saying" is deeply embedded in your brain, genes, by generations of your ancestors who got it from religious beliefs... It is a strategy of survival recorded there to cope with life threatening situations/thoughts, just like everything else that is recorded in our brains and bodies; we all are a sum of strategies of survival that have no other purpose but to allow us to adapt and survive.

Again it makes you feel good, and that is its intent. Billions of people think the same when facing such situations. We all have this, we all think it's normal, it's even "good", as long as it happens to someone else. Then when it happens to us, we think "what did i do wrong" or "why is it happening to be, was i so bad of a person" ? Then you either change, adapt, submit, cooperate, ally , "understand thing you didnt understand previously" etc.

Yeah. But one day you ll die too. Whatever the way you ll die. Physical, mental illness, accident, murder, and people around you will think "you get what you get".

Some of what he says is good stuff, however he's not seated in reality and he's far too forgiving. After almost making a point that everyone can agree on, he completely veers off course and onto a huge tangent.

We are products of our environment, but if I pull out a gun and start spraying lead it's a fault of my own and I am the sole person responsible. Every interaction we have with people and our environments is contributory in a small way, but we ultimately make the decisions we carry out. Derek is the strongest mitigating factor in Derek's life. Not some feeling of inadequacy from 20 years ago that manifested into a runaway train of havoc and drug abuse. Derek is the conductor and can pull the levers at a moment's notice. He's the one who drove himself into the ground and no one else.

I guess a smart man, woman, is someone who lives a long life , get the most of it, see others die, fail before him, benefit from their downfalls, and keeps everything and everyone under control -ie helping him /her survive as long as possible-. Isnt that the ideal man, woman figure we all wish we could be, or have, as a mentor/adviser?

Also people tend to admire people who survive difficulties, adapt, stay alive while others would have failed. Because what we admire is "life", or "lifeforms" that survive, adapt, dominate instead of being dominated. Who admires the weak lion in a group, nobody , everyone admires the strong alpha male that fuck every female he wants when he wants and who eats other males offsprings before fucking their mothers. We are nothing more than animals who are conscious of being animals, that's our only difference with other animal species, but in the end, we share and live by the same intrinsical principles; kill or get killed. If I remember correctly and I could be wrong it's something like 1% of the population gets it and there are tons of drugs addicts plus he is young so it prop is even more rare for his age. Also, it depends on the size of the tumor as to whether they can do the ablation.
