Just flew back from DFW today. Spent two days in downtown Dallas for the second time in a month and just loved it. Stayed at the Omni Hotel downtown, 220$ a night gets you a 4 stars level room you would pay twice for anywhere else.

People are nice, all gals call you honey, sugar pie and/or sweetheart. I just love it there. Everything is just bigger and better. I heard in the past that Dallas-Fort Worth was dirty and ugly, I don't get it, quite the opposite. There's also an optimism and desire to be good people that intangibly floats in the air.

I actually had trouble with my rental, so pulled over on the express way. took about 5 minutes for someone to pull behind me to see if need help. I said I was on the phone with Hertz and they're sending someone. "Well, wanna beer while we wait" pull a Rubbermaid cooler, just because. Here in Cali, it's most likely you get hit by a  mattress flying off a S10 Mexican pickup truck.

Just saying...

I'm in the Dfw area , I love it!

Originally born and bred in SoCal

You don't need a licence to own a gun , only if you want to carry it concealed in public areas..... no permit no nothing .... just paper work and FED background check and bam less then 5 minutes a shotgun, AR15, or dirty Harry's pistol is yours

Believed or not, I have to complete 8 pages long gun application form  :P, takes 2 weeks or so.
Must have 2 metal storage cabinets, 1 for a rifle & another 4 ammo  >:( , around $ 350 each.
Cops visit is expected too, to check storage facilities.
Not too hard to get illegal staff, but  ::)

I hate California. Just walking out of LAX makes me depressed as hell, the air is dirty...concrete city....hate it. Tennessee, Texas,South Carolina, North Carolina best places to live

California isn't a city, but it does have plenty of rural towns and cities.  It also has some of the best air quality numbers in the country.

Just kinda strange to hate California because one hates the Los Angeles area.

Go to Dallas in mid July and see how much you love it.  Fucking sweating your balls off.  I do love the no state tax thing.  Makes me laugh when I walk into fast food joints and they have a NO GUNS ALLOWED sign.

Move to Westlake, big houses for a fraction of the cost of a Cali home.

Texas- humid in the east, dry in the west and hot from May til November. Spent some time in El Paso, I took the coil wire off my Cherokee so the beaners would not steal it as I slumbered.

Lived in Texas for time in my youth.  Fathers side are all texans. A large segment of my family still lives there.  I enjoy visiting Texas but I've become to much of a northerner for Texans.  Unless you were born and raised in Texas, you'll never be a Texan.

bench

I hear this a lot from a lot of people born and raised there, yet they've never travelled the country or even left their own state.  Funny how they can called their own state the best without ever seeing another.

I've come to appreciate texas and what it offers a lot more now that I've gotten older. Cost of living is low, lots of space, land and open parking...low taxes...most importantly, our state still respects individual freedom and is a bastion of conservatism  holding the line against the encroachment of socialism. However, I still can't get used to the weather...its HORRIBLE. hot as fuck almost year round

Hard to respect a state where the governor held a prayer rally in hope of rain.  Who the fuck does that?

Fort Worth is truly a wonderful city. I've always loved visiting there, and the airport is extremely well laid out and staffed with friendly people.

I love going to Fort Worth. Simple as that.
