Bath?  Grown men still take baths these days?   Men take showers.  Showers!

Yes, light a couple of candles and nice glass of wine. It's very relaxing.

Don't Judge Me!

I cannot stand a bath .. It gets hot and uncomfortable for me. The idea sounds great but when I put it in practice .. FAIL.  ;D

I guess Paperwhite it is. It is much better for reading than books. I do agree and I love the ideea of a paper book. But times change and I like reading at night in bed.

Once you start using it you'll never pick up a paper book again.  If you sign up for the amazon prime you get access to borrow thousands of titles for free.  Plus you can stream movies and shows for free on your other devices

I agree with you. Did you notice the price difference between paperbacks and kindle versions?

Problem is you don't own these titles - you license them. And they can be arbitrarily erased from your device. Boing Boing harps on this licensing stuff, a lot. I'm a book guy/collector, so I'm biased, but man if you get a lot of books they can take up a shit ton of space. That's one downside to the physical.

This is my conundrum. I love classic books.. but I also want to read while traveling or whenever I feel like it. So kindle solves this for me.

Nobody mentioned Calibre yet? You mob fail  >:(

Grab Calibre and you can convert pretty much anything to Mobi format (kindle format). I've not tried PDF-> Mobi yet as I use my iPad for large PDFs. It should work. But ePub which seems to be the preferred format of eBook pirates converts just fine. Though Mobi is making strong headway into the game

Only played around with the Kindle Fire but weren't impressed. If you have an iPad, I see little point in the Fire.

Hey, you're not the only one. Whatever keeps you reading is good.  :)

Who knows. Probably the latest iPad I'd imagine. Though Samsung fanboys are bound to show up and throw their tampons at me for saying that. I prefer the Apple ecosystem. Others will prefer Android.

Kindle versions are always cheaper.  Less materials.  Do not buy a tablet thinking it's a reader.  Reading on an ipad is impossible.  same with the fire.  buy a reader for reading and a tablet for internet, apps etc...

I love Amazon. But fuck their ads and lack of support for open source formats.

I'm gonna get the new Nook. Probably a couple of them for gifts.

CLEAN, I bought a KINDLE before the HD version was introduced (not the black and white one)
and although this may NOT be a direct response to your question .....

I joined the Amazon Prime 'thing' for $70 a year (approximately) and that PRIME MEMBERSHIP  has encouraged me to purchase another Kindle ....  but this time it will be the larger HD version.

I discovered that I receive all sorts of 'free stuff' as a Prime member .... the most noteworthy being FREE SHIPPING for all Amazon purchases identified as "Prime".

I make numerous AMAZON purchases so this free shipping comes in very handy.

Plus I find it of great help when I can order anything from AMAZOn with a simple 'One Click' and my orders seem to be placed in the mail immediately because I receive most orders within 48 hours.

Sorry to be off topic here but PRIME MEMBERSHIP is one  of the advantages of owning a KINDLE and a KINDLe is a hell of a lot cheaper than an iPAD.
Amazon Prime is the tits. The free 2 day shipping makes it very addicting.

I paid something like $20 extra for the ad free version of the paperwhite.

Oh yeah, sev.  You can pay something like $50more and be able to download from any cell network worldwide for free.  Or just use wifi.

can't compare.  The true e-readers like the kindle look like paper books.  So nice.  Reading on an ipad sucks

Well he's an admitted David Icke fan so think shape shifting lizards and NWO conspiracies.

And no, I'm not joking. He really likes David Icke.  :-\

Kindle actually changed my life. I read far, far more now.

BTW.. A good, long soak in a large bath is a thousand times better than a shower.

it is, but i just don't have the kindle on hand very often and it ends up collecting dust. amazon's kindle app does have some display options that make it easier, but obviously it's not going to compare.

I am not a fan but a fellow researcher .. David is a great guy and I support his work. No conspiracies here, just truth. Falcon is well aware of my work.

I posted above my favorite reads Elisabeth Haich's "Initiation" and the Complete Lifetime Works of Swami Vivekananda. I highly recommend both.
