Know a guy who's been on several tours to Afghanistan with our forces. Told us that he knew some Norwegian guys who did a lot of patroling. Said they'd spot one or two goat (or whatever else piece of cattle they had handy) fuckers pretty much every time they were out. Apparently there was a legendary USB stick with nothing but videos of those incidents. Seems to be pretty commonplace with this crowd.
We ought to take the appropriate epistemic caution toward mere anecdotes as evidence, but in the absence of data -- nobody is going from village to village and asking how many goats were fucked in the last month -- they're all we've got. And what they seem to indicate is a region (Middle East + Afpak) rife with bestiality, the trafficking of little boys for sexual purposes, the utter repression of women, widespread homosexuality, zero understanding of animal suffering, and the abuse/quasi-enslavement of migrant workers from other parts of Asia (mostly India, Pakistan, and the Philippines).
I can't help but have an inner chuckle when ahmed and others condemn the 'immoral' West given the above facts.
