Not being funny but your hyping yourself up way too much. You were ripped but not pro level showday ripped.
ah we have a jester here, who said pro level?you taking the olympia as benchmark?

been to regional shows and national shows and see the competitors upclose right next to you?

at the very worst it was 2 weeks out

I don't think he meant pro level. He said that most dont even hit on contest day.
It could be local contests, and there are a lot of people who can't get that lean.

What a vulgar human being this galeniko is! He is definitely not an highly educated person.

Here I am after training for 5 years and going to university. Drugs were considered dangerous and cheating in those days.

Galeniko is very careful with the dosages he ever used. I can vouch galeniko was very against high doses, HGH,Insulin,Synthol, crazy high doses, he also knew how to run a cycle where you don't need huge dosages. The key is to actually do alot of cardio and start your cycle when your around the 5-7% BF level and just a HRT dose should help you gain alot of pure muscle,no water. I almost thought this thread was a joke. I didn't read anything about a bad kidney till just now. I was away for thanksgiving and have not been on the board much. galeniko is good people. he is not some careless shitbag like derek anthony. derek had it coming to him but galeniko does not deserve any bad health problems. How bad is it? I guess your sick of hearing that question, hope it all works out in the end.

I debated steroids with Ray Mentzer when he and his family stayed at my place. He quipped that they were merely gonad stimulators. Ray was on dialysis and died at 47 in 2001. I wonder how long some of the heroes here will live. Good luck fellas.

Let's give popular Galeniko the benefit of the doubt and assume he was smart, informed, monitored, and avoided heavy and long term doses. If this wise and careful guy has to go off then what about those not so informed? His example proves that these drugs are dangerous and side affects can accumulate over time.

If he was so careful and under medical supervision then how come he ended up where he is with serious concerns about his kidneys? Unless he is atypical we have to conclude there is no safety in anabolic steroids and other agents promoting muscular growth.

I think he made smart decisions when using AAS. I never have read any posts by galeniko where he advised or talked about using any crazy dosages or compounds. You can't blame everything on steroids or anything else that might be bad about his lifestyle.

According to your logic one can be smart but unlucky when it comes to growth drugs? Galeniko's words suggest bodybuilders play kidney roulette and come to grief eventually. Luke Wood was a nice guy but was unlucky.

What the fuck is going on in this thread? Has EVERYONE gone fucking NUTS?

Let me put this straight idiots, if you truly believe that 250mg/week of testosterone can give you any health issues, even in the long run then you are nuts. What do we really know about Galeniko's health? All we have is one lab test that is by no means a diagnosis. And even assuming that he indeed has kindey problems, there is a myriad of things that could have caused them. And yes, including genetic factors. I would like to remind all of you that there are people out there that have natural levels of testosterone that equivalent of 200mg of testosterone weekly. It's rare but I do know one of them. This is not even on the list of things that can cause renal failure, period.

Secondly, there are dozens of different anabolics and not all of them can cause everything. "Anabolics can cause kidney failure" makes just as much sense as "painkillers can cause kidney failure". Yes, some of them can. Others won't. Some won't unless taken for a long period of time or in huge dosages.

Why isn't anyone bashing Galeniko for smoking? It is 10x as unhealthy as taking testosterone and is just as likely the cause of his problems. Smoking means elevated blood pressure, elevated blood pressure leads to kidney problems. There you go.

One last thing, to Galeniko. Why the fuck go paranoid over one lab test? Have you even fucking confirmed that something is wrong with your kidneys? Seriously. Testosterone is a natural hormone and won't cause renal failure in small dose. And quit smoking Igor :P

Idiots, idiots everywhere.

Galeniko is a sensible guy who researched everything beforehand. We can assume he knows what those test results mean and is being careful.

he passed away in 2010. I remember because I met him at the Aussie pro that year and he died a couple of months later. RIP

Luke was a special guy. Who knows what really happened? He did say that he blamed no one for health problems. On one occasion he misread the dose and took 10 times what was prescribed! That didn't help and he didn't blame Milos. Luke was 32 I believe. A real shame.

Comparing Luke Woood to Galeniko is like comparing heroin junkie to me because I smoke marijuanna occasionally.

I read he was very trusting and a very nice guy.  If he misread Milo's dosage then thats devastating.  I probably hold Milo's partly responsible because he should have been more caring and monitored Luke more closely.

No comparison intended. Just a comment about being unlucky which both were. That is what most people want to believe.

You got Luke right. Milos is a true guru but he shook his head many times because his disciples wouldn't follow exactly what he advised. Luke ruined his kidneys by taking 10 times the recommended dosage of a powerful drug. That is easy to do if you aren't knowledgeable about pharmacology. People say that diuretics can compound damage. I am not a doctor so that is speculation.

Poor Luke and poor Derek.  Both are casualties of this obsessive unhealthy sport.  Derek didn't compete and he looked better in a suit than in a singlet all tatted up.  He didn't need to be so big and lean all year round year after year.  I remember reading Derek's training thread over at rxmuscle and he ate so clean and was always doing regular cardio.  He was dedicated and lived the lifestyle.  But pushing the envelope year after year to look this way took its toll on his body.  Poor guy didn't realise that he was so much more than muscles.  I wish he had got out of this sport when Dave Palumbo threw him under the bus on radio show.  Derek was too good for leeches like that.  He should have got out.
