It's not him per se. In many domestic violence cases the woman doesn't want the man to be charged, or recants her story. Blaming herself or not wanting the signif other to go to jail. It's a cycle. And there is calm down phase (honey moon phase) again, and then it starts back up. So you'll see another domestic violence incident happen in a few months time, after X-mas.
