No true socialist country has ever had any long term success. Its impossible. The taxed get sick of paying for everyone else and leave. It happens on smaller scale everywhere and not only in full socialism.
Hell it happens to individual states...
In this utopian dream where everyone equal, who pays for everything? Well its not really equal you need the wealthy to pay for the poor... but eventually there are no wealthy.
And while the left wants you to believe it can work... it simply cannot.
It is short term punishment of the successful.
Take as much as you can from them and redistribute it as fast as possible, until they get sick of it and leave. THEN blame them for all of the problems of the poor, and try to steal more next time.
I would love to see, from even an expert on socialism, how it can work long term. It simply cannot.
Look at Greece. When the money runs out... you get violence when you try to take away peoples free shit.
