... eh, dude, you "won" based on some judges scores on who thought you looked the prettiest. it's a beauty pagent for men with muscles.. you didn't knock him out or accomplish some great athletic feat. the entire "sport" is based on subjectivity.
Yet, Kai wants those same accolades. Kai wants to be the champion.
winning the Mr O in the weakest lineup's since the 1970's isn't much to be proud of. you're a 'face' the supplement companies can push.. "eh, he's not really a 'black guy', and he didn't do gay porn... lets let him win instead of the dark fella who has pictures and videos of his penis on the internet... he'll sell more magazines and creatine".
Does that mean Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney weren't really black guys? BSN, Weider, MET-Rx, and Twinlab seems to have thought differently. Heck, Weider even pushed an AFRICAN guy, who never competed in a pro show, some 20 years ago..
great arms? sure.. but a back that's not even in the top 5 of the sport (MrO winners and not-winners included).. legs that suck, not even in the top 12-15 of the sport.. chest? shoulders? nah, won't even bother mentioning... not to say kai is 'all that' great, but his back is unique and large, and his legs are great.. arms? eh.. they're better than Lee, Dorian and Jay's.. chest? better than Jay's and Phils, probably dorian's as well (but dorian wasn't about bodyparts.. it was hard, big, grainy mass). an XL shirt looks big on Phil everywhere except the shirtsleeves.
A weak lineup? This lineup had thre Mr. Os; the last time that occured was in 1984. And all of them made top 6. Phil has beaten some of the top guys in bodybuilding since his rookie year (when he won hit first two pro shows, defeating several top-10 Olympia competitors). He's never placed lower than 5th (and that was at the Arnold and the Olympia).
As for the divorce thing, I don't think you can say a three-year-old doesn't notice his dad's gone. I have a three year old. If I go on a business trip for more than two days, he wants to know where I am and whne I'm coming home. My daughter was the same way.
When I had to work for several months away from home, she would bawl her eyes out every time my wife had to drop me off at the airport. Divorce can hurt kids big time and to think that they don't hurt from it, even at age 3, is a fautly premise to say the least.
