They can cause your muscles to repair at a slower rate. Just depends how much and what kind you are using.

Taking ibuprofen after a workout seems to blunt the body's response, at least according to some research I've seen.

The inflammation after a workout is partly what signals the body to rebuild the muscles.  Reduce the inflammation and hypertrophy is reduced too
